We celebrated the International Day of Peace by creating pinwheels to spread the message. Ask your child what they learned in art class about how they can spread peace!

Today we visited the school garden to assist with harvesting our fall tomatoes. We also checked in on our Brussel sprouts. They are getting close but will need a few more days!
Today we joined Mrs. Dufern to celebrate National Pirate Week. We got to explore the contents of her treasure chest and practice talking like a pirate. Ask your child to share what they enjoyed about our latest visit to the library.
Miss Mac will be joining us on Wednesdays after specials to help us become superheroes! Today we met Superflex and learned about some of villains he works hard to defeat each and every day. With flexible thinking, we can all become super! Ask your child to teach you about these villains and how they are defeated after our meetings on Wednesdays.
Second graders are busy building our reading stamina. Smart readers know we have to strengthen our reading stamina just like we have to build our stamina to run far, hold our breath for a long time, and jump rope. Luckily, we have a lot of choices of where to read while we practice. Today Dr. Carter joined us for a read aloud and shared a new title in the Black Lagoon series. We enjoyed getting to know Dr. Carter better and look forward to more visits soon!
