We had a wonderful field trip to the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum. We learned about animals, habitats, and leading a green life. We were also thrilled to release a new butterfly into the Butterfly Haven in honor of Westgate School. Despite the weather and traffic, this was voted our best field trip of the year!
Today we dissected flowers to explore the process of pollination and gain a deeper understanding of the parts of a flower. Below are a few highlights from our dissection. All photos featuring close-up views of flowers were taken by students. Enjoy!
Our class would like the thank all the members of the Westgate PTA! We greatly enjoyed today's assembly where we learned about the Aztec people's culture through storytelling, song, and dance.
We've continued to carefully watch over our fifty caterpillars. From young larva to those undergoing metamorphosis in their chrysalis, they've been fascinating. Check out these highlights below!
