A special thanks to the Davenport family for helping us celebrate the Chinese New Year. Westgate alumni, Katie and Elizabeth, returned to Westgate to share the history of the holiday as well as how they currently celebrate as a family. They even shared some good luck with us by sharing oranges. Thanks Davenports!
Is the value of 100 large or small...you decide! $100 may not go very far, 100 noodles won't fill your belly for a while, but 100 jumping jacks is tiring; just ask our class!
We had a blast during global play day--coloring, building, reading, and just spending time together. We are proof that kids can follow two simple rules--be safe and have fun! :) This week, some of our reading groups are transitioning to "Unguided Reading." As we become increasingly independent as readers, we are now trying to reach our reading goals without teacher help. Now, we are ready to try our stories on our own and then meet as a group to discuss our reading. This is our next step in becoming expert readers.
Today Mrs. Miller earned our Leader of the Day tag. She was nominated for always being respectful and putting first things first when leading art lessons. Thanks Arce Leaders for recognizing the leadership in others.
