Today we learned about the art of Chinese calligraphy. We learned about the four treasures of study which are the traditional ink and brush tools used to do calligraphy. We also learned the correct way to hold the brush and our body while practicing our characters. Many students enjoyed this task, even skipping recess to continue their practice! |

To conclude our unit on rocks and minerals, we learned about fossils. We enjoyed simulating the creation of mold, cast, and petrified fossils. Challenge your student to explain these different types of fossils at home!
Our class had a wonderful time celebrating Valentine's Day. We started our day with a special guest reader from the Rolling Meadows Basketball team. We also had a blast writing stories with our fourth grade buddies and building towers, all using candy hearts. But, our favorite way to celebrate was party time! A heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported our party whether you were involved in party planning, donating supplies, or volunteering your time to run an activity. Thank you!!! Enjoy the photos below! We had fun exploring the Lizzadro Museum. After a quick movie, we went on a scavenger hunt throughout the museum to answer some tough questions! We enjoyed finding our birthstones, a castle with golden cannons, and finding trilobite fossils all around the room. |
