Thanks to all our students and families who joined us for Open House. It was wonderful to see so many leaders sharing their school with their families. We hope you enjoyed sampling our garden harvest too! Over 1,000 samples were tasted!
Today we practiced the traditional Chinese art form of calligraphy. We learned about the four treasures (our calligraphy tools) and how to create a variety of Mandarin characters. Our favorite was trying to write our names in Mandarin! We also enjoyed learning to read a few characters such as the words for tree, person, fire, and moon.
To begin our study of Non-Fiction texts, we are learning that reference books often use text features to help the reader understand. After learning the names of several text features and how they help us as readers, we made of a piccollage of all the features we found. Check back soon to see these on display!
